Inspiration:
Inspired by the spirit of our community, the 30x60” original was created as a token of gratitude for the Stober Foundation’s $25,000 matching donation to Jaxon Jurome’s Swinging with the Stars Campaign to raise funds for the Central Okanagan Hospice Association in 2023. Thanks to their generosity, Jaxon was able to raise over $77,000 contributing towards the record breaking $535,000 grand total! This painting encapsulates both the natural beauty of our Valley & the bright future our City has when we come together & support one another!
Enjoy a bird's-eye view of the Downtown Kelowna skyline at sunset from the Apex Lookout at the top of Knox Mountain Regional Park! The artwork vividly captures the cityscape, the iconic William R. Bennett bridge, South Slopes, West Kelowna and the serene waters of Okanagan Lake. Those with a keen eye can follow the "Apex Trail", down the mountainside, threading through the vibrant city. The bridge then escorts your view over the lake and along Highway 97, guiding you through West Kelowna & Peachland, until the journey trails off the canvas & into the sunset, leaving a sense of continued exploration beyond the painting's edge!
Kelowna Artwork by BC Artist Jaxon Jurome:
Born & raised in Kelowna, British Columbia, Jaxon Jurome is a professional artist, 3rd generation REALTOR® & Okanagan adventurer who is so grateful to enjoy the endless list of outdoor opportunities that British Columbia provides! Following the teachings of his grandfather, Bill Jurome, Jaxon began painting several years ago & has formulated a style which is inspired by the positivity & vibrancy of the natural environment! Whether it’s an epic powder day on the ski hill, a hot Okanagan afternoon by the lake, or catching a big winter swell in Tofino, Jaxon feels that nature can teach us so much about slowing down, being present & truly living a fulfilled life enriched by experience. Using this as the spark for his inspiration, Jaxon packs each painting with as much positivity energy as possible bringing great joy, happiness & colour into people’s lives & living rooms! Being a self taught artist, Jaxon’s aim with painting is to inspire others to create. Whether it is art, dance, music, words or sculpting, we all have the power to create positivity!
